About Dr. Jenkin

Dr. Renata M. Jenkin, M.D., Ph.D, FAAD began her career in Dermatology in 1986 when she graduated with her Ph.D in Immune Regulation from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. Following completion of her Ph.D, she was accepted to medical school and subsequently completed her dermatology residency at the University of Toronto. Dr. Jenkin received her Board Certification from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCPC) in Canada in 1995 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). 

Dr. Jenkin’s 23 year dermatology career has been predominantly Seattle based and includes private practice, a large group hospital based practice, and academia as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington. Throughout her career she has been heavily involved with clinical teaching of general dermatology. Her love of teaching spills over to her patient interaction which she believes is critical to patient care and satisfaction. 

Dr. Jenkin’s clinical expertise includes all ages, from infants, adolescents to elderly skin needs. She has a focused interest in skin cancer such as melanoma and squamous/basal carcinomas, in addition to chronic skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair and nail disorders. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Jenkin enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends such as downhill skiing and hiking. She is a mother of 3 grown children and values having her children living in the Chicago area.
